Migration Update : 11 October 2022

1. Department of Home Affairs released the outcome of August invitation round for 189/491 visas. 

Totally 12,200 invitations were issued for 189 visas and 466 invitations were issued for 491 visas in August 2022. The minimum point score to be invited for both visas is 65, but this score may vary depending on each skilled occupation. 2. Invitation rounds for Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189) and Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) and Family Sponsored visas will be run cyclically during the 2022-23 program year.  

The number of invitations for each round may de different from others depending on the number of applications being processed by the Department. Importantly, State or territory government nominations for skilled visas will not be impacted by the departmental invitation rounds. 

3. For the invitation round issued on 6th OCT 2022, SOL Migration received 18+ invitations for 189 visas. 

 

4. The Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) Migration Skills Assessment (MSA) Applicant Guidelines have been updated. 

The new guidelines will be effective for all new Migration Skill Assessment lodgments from 4th Oct 2022. This means that applications lodged before 4th Oct will not be impacted by the recent changes.
