Migration Update : 25 October 2022
1. Onshore temporary visa applicants are no longer required a visa medical check
The requirement of health examinations for onshore temporary visas (e.g., Temporary Skills Shortage 482, Student 500, visitor 600, etc.) is being waved. Bupa Medical Visa Services will contact onshore applicants who have already scheduled their health examination appointments for cancellation and refunds.
2. NSW Government is going to open “Regional NSW-based Direct Pathway” for 491 visas with less point and experience requirements
This pathway aims to support the development of regional NSW. The new stream will prioritise skilled applicants who are currently living and working in NSW for the past 12 months for a minimum of 20 hours per week.
3. October Invitation round outcome is released on Department’s Website
There are 11,714 invitations have been issued for Skilled Independent Visas – subclass 189, and there are 818 invitations have been sent to applicants who apply for Skilled Work Regional visas – subclass 491 – Family Sponsored. 4. Student visa Document checklist Tool has been updated based on the new risk level of country and Education provider.
